What the heck is information and why it is so hard to protect?

I’ve heard people explain our world as two different worlds: A, Atom and B, Bit. The Atomic world is everything made from matter- all physical objects fall under this category. Sometimes we call it the “material world”. The Bit world is information, such as a computer program, music, story, movie, and law.
